The only hut on the Hayatsuki ridge, the line that rises northwest to the summit of Tsurugidake, standing at about 2,210m. It marks the halfway point of a climb that gains some 2,200m from Babajima to the top, and it is the base for walkers taking on one of Japan's steepest approaches. Sleeping places are divided by curtains for privacy; larger parties may be put together in one room, and when the hut is full the common room is used for guests as well. There is a campsite at 1,200 yen per person per night. In 2026 the hut takes overnight guests from 17 July to 4 October, with the shop open from the staff's July arrival until 5 October; heavy snow can bring an early close. It does not open over New Year or Golden Week. No cancellation fee is charged when bad weather closes the road to Babajima.
