雁峠避難小屋

Hut at about 1,780m at Karitoge, a pass on the main Okuchichibu traverse in Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, in Otaki, Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. Karitoge is a saddle on the ridge leading to Kasatoriyama (1,953m), the watershed that parts the Fuefuki, Ara and Tama rivers; Yamanashi City describes a route to Kasatoriyama from the Shinjidaira bus stop by Lake Hirose, going by way of Karitoge. On Saitama Prefecture's national park trail map the pass appears as an end point of a section of the Okuchichibu traverse, with the trail continuing east toward Kobushigatake and south to the Kasatori hut, which requires reservations. This hut, however, appears neither in the Ministry of the Environment's national list of mountain huts nor in the list of shelters within the national park published by Saitama Prefecture's Chichibu Environmental Management Office, and there is no matching entry in Google Places. No official source could be found describing its manager, capacity, conditions of use or present condition.
