大船山避難小屋

Shelter at about 1,690m beside Danbaru, the saddle on the ridge linking Mt. Taisen (1,786m) and Kita-Taisen (1,706m) in the eastern Kuju range of Aso-Kuju National Park, in Ariuji, Kujumachi, Taketa City, Oita Prefecture. From Danbaru the path climbs south to the summit of Mt. Taisen and runs north to Kita-Taisen, while the crater of Komekubo opens to the east. About 1.8km down to the northwest lies Bogatsuru, with its marsh and campground, another shelter, a toilet and water, and the Hokkein hot spring nearby. The Ministry of the Environment's national hut list classes it as a publicly owned emergency shelter managed by the Kuju branch office of Taketa City. No official source could be found giving the hut's capacity or conditions of use.
