This loop starts near the Odani Castle Sengoku Historical Museum, follows the main enclosure area of Odani Castle Ruins, and visits Ōdake Castle Ruins at the highest point of Mount Odani. Odani Castle, the residence of the Azai clan for three generations, is a nationally designated historic site with surviving stone walls and enclosure remains. The descent passes Fukuju-maru and Yamazaki-maru ruins, while the upper mountain overlooks northern Ōmi and Lake Biwa.
