From the summit car park at the end of the Ibukiyama Driveway, this return climbs the Central Trail, the shortest and stair-filled route, to the 1,377 m summit of Mount Ibuki, the highest point in Shiga Prefecture. The trail runs through the summit grassland flora designated a national natural monument, with meadowsweet and other flowers in summer and views toward Nagahama on the way up.
