This circuit climbs from Kurodake Seventh Station over Mount Kurodake to Kurodake Ishimuro, circles the Ohachidaira rim through Hokkaidake, Mamiya-dake and Nakadake, and also ascends Mount Hokuchin. It returns through Kurodake Ishimuro and Mount Kurodake, tracing the high ridges around Daisetsuzan's roughly two-kilometre-wide central caldera.
