This Daisetsuzan circuit climbs from Sugatami Station to Asahidake, Hokkaido's highest peak, crosses Mamiyadake, descends to Nakadake Onsen, and returns through Susoaidaira. It combines volcanic gravel slopes and caldera views with a wild hot spring and one of Japan's largest expanses of Aleutian avens.
