Nakajo Chomin Ski Area Closed
Official name 中条町民スキー場
Niigata
Nakajo Chomin was a small town ski hill in former Nakajo Town, which merged into Tainai City in northern Niigata in 2005. It lay about 300 m off Route 7 and some 4 km from Nakajo Station. Guidebooks from the mid-to-late 1970s describe a single run served by a 120 m rope tow, a building for food and rest, and parking for around 50 cars. When it opened and closed is not recorded. The tow has been removed and almost nothing at the site now shows that skiing once took place there.
