Mt. Shiratori

Mt. Shiratori is a 298-meter peak in Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture, near the northern end of the Kushigata Range—often called Japan's smallest mountain range. The summit holds the Tossaka Castle ruins (part of the Okuyamasō Castle Remains), former stronghold of the Nakajo clan, retainers of the Echigo-Uesugi. A roughly three-hour loop course from the Ishikiriyama trailhead crosses Mt. Tossaka before reaching Mt. Shiratori.
