Maple Hill Ski Resort Closed
Official name メイプルヒルスキーリゾート
Tochigi
Open 1989–2000
Maple Hill Ski Resort stood on the western slope of Mt. Keicho in former Fujiwara town, now part of Nikko, Tochigi. Keichozan Kanko Kaihatsu built it on about 100 hectares at a cost of 3.2 billion yen and opened it in December 1989, styling the slopes and centre house on a Canadian theme. It had four lifts including a quad, runs of about 2 km, night skiing and a 650-seat restaurant, and its slopes connected with the neighbouring Keichozan Ski Area. It closed around 2000 after its operator collapsed. The lifts have been removed, but the buildings remain derelict and the site has not been reused.
