Mt. Utsushi

Mt. Utsushi is a 995 m peak in the Funehiki-machi Nagatoji area of Tamura City, Fukushima Prefecture, standing as an isolated cone near the center of the Abukuma Highlands. The summit commands a 360-degree panorama embracing Mt. Kamakura, Mt. Adatara and the wider Tōhoku skyline, with two trails branching east and west from the Zuihōhei trailhead and reaching the top in roughly an hour. An annual mountain-opening ceremony is held in early summer. The peak is listed in both the original and revised Utsukushima 100 Famous Mountains of Fukushima.
