Mt. Umami (977.8 m) straddles Kama and Asakura in Fukuoka and is the highest peak of the "Kaho Alps" ridge linking Mt. Kosho, Mt. Hei and Mt. Egawa. The range was designated a Japanese Mountain Heritage Site in 2016; the summit features the Goshinjo sacred rock, wind caves and beech forests, with views extending to Mt. Hiko, Kujū, Aso and Fugen.
