Mt. Tokurayama, 256 m, lies on the border of Numazu City and Shimizu Town in Shizuoka Prefecture and is the third of the seven peaks of the Numazu Alps, the low ridge that runs south from Mt. Kanuki to Mt. Daihira. Viewed from the east its profile resembles an elephant, earning it the local nickname Zōzan (象山, “Elephant Mountain”). The summit gives sweeping views of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay and central Numazu, and it is a featured viewpoint on the 6½–7½-hour Numazu Alps traverse, which is itself designated by the city as one of the Numazu Treasure 100 (ぬまづの宝100選).
