Mt. Mayoidake is a 1,309.1 m peak in southern Iitaka, Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture, rising on a spur of the main ridge of the northern Daikō Range. Its name — literally 'Lost Mountain' — derives from the intricate, confusing layout of the summit ridges, which traditionally caught out hikers. The broad summit, ringed by a fine beech forest, serves as a popular rest spot and the peak is grouped with neighbouring Kogamaruyama and Shirakurayama as the Ōguma-Sanzan (Three Mountains of Ōguma). Matsusaka City designates it as the 9th (advanced) summit of the Matsusaka Kahada Eleven; the standard ascent starts at the Karatani trailhead, and the peak is included in the Kansai Hyakumeizan, Kinki Hyakumeizan and Mie Bunken Tozan Guide.
