Mt. Kinomune (413 m) rises in the Fukuda district of Higashi Ward, Hiroshima City, and is included in the Hiroshima 100 Mountains and Hiroshima Prefecture 100 Famous Mountains lists. The summit preserves the ruins of a medieval mountain castle — stone walls, dry moats and earthworks — and the mountain is featured as a family-friendly day hike on the official Higashi-Ward walking guides. Kihata Shrine and Nakazu Pond sit on the southeastern foothills, and trails climb from the Dōtaku Excavation Site entrance and Mita Pass entrance.
