Mount Takao is a 424.2-metre peak on the boundary between the Nukushina district of Higashi Ward, Hiroshima City, and Fuchū Town in Aki District, standing south-west of the higher Mount Gozasō (682 m). Climbed from Mikumari Shrine via the ruins of Iwatani-Kannon, it offers an outstanding view from the Iwatani-Kannon rock crag over central Hiroshima, the islands of Hiroshima Bay including Ninoshima, Etajima and Miyajima, and inland mountains such as Shirakiyama and Ōmineyama.
