Mt. Kanoudake

A 341-meter peak rising above Imajuku in Nishi Ward of Fukuoka City. Kanodake Shrine sits on the summit, said to have been founded in the Muromachi period when local lord Yoshizumi Inaba-no-kami Tadachika invited the Shōgun Jizō from Kyoto's Atago Gongen. The character 叶 ("to be granted") has long drawn worshippers seeking that their wishes come true. A ridge trail links it with neighboring Mt. Kosoyama and Mt. Iimoriyama, and it is listed in the Fukuoka Choteizan and the Fukuoka prefectural mountain guide.
