Mount Hokyosan (461 m) is an isolated peak south-east of the Tsukuba massif in north-eastern Tsukuba City, Ibaraki. Once known as Mount Oda after the medieval Oda Castle on its summit, the mountain takes its present name from a Kamakura-period Hōkyōin pagoda still standing at the top. Six maintained trails climb the peak, and the open summit gives a 360° panorama of Lake Kasumigaura, the Kanto Plain, Mount Tsukuba and—on clear days—Mount Fuji.
