Mt. Abuyama

Mt. Abuyama is a 281 m conical peak in the Hokusetsu hills, straddling the border between Takatsuki and Ibaraki cities in northern Osaka Prefecture. On its flank lies the Abuyama Kofun, a late-7th-century tumulus whose plaster-sealed stone chamber and luxurious grave goods have led scholars to identify it as the possible tomb of Fujiwara no Kamatari, while the summit area hosts Kyoto University's Abuyama Seismological Observatory. The mountain is listed in the Osaka 50, the Osaka Bunken Tozan Guide, and the Kansai-Shūhen no Yama 130, with maintained hiking routes from the Kansai University campus and the Shōbōsho-mae bus stop.
