Mount Sasago-gangaharasuri (1,357 m) stands at the western edge of Otsuki City in Yamanashi Prefecture and is designated as the fourth peak of Otsuki's Twelve Splendid Views of Mount Fuji (秀麗富嶽十二景). From just below the summit, Mount Fuji rises above the Misaka Mountains, and a trail runs from JR Sasago Station. Three Sasago tunnels — for the JR Chuo Line, Route 20, and the Chuo Expressway — pass directly beneath the mountain, and the name is said to derive from geese skimming the ridge so low that their bellies seem to graze it. The peak appears on many notable lists including Yamanashi Hyakumeizan, Kōshū Hyakuzan, and the Yamanashi Hiking 100.
