Mount Sankaku

三角山

Teshikaga, Hokkaido · Elevation 453 m

A mountain with a triangular profile when viewed from the Kussharo settlement. Its former name, Chisenenupuri, means a house-like mountain in Ainu. The summit has the third-order triangulation point 背根登. There is no hiking trail, and bamboo grass covers the slopes; climbs are mainly made via the eastern ridge while residual snow remains.
