Mount Matsukasa

Mount Matsukasa (Matsukasa-yama) is a 374 m hill in Higashi Ward, Hiroshima City, set northeast of Mount Ushita on the left bank of the Ōta River and bordering Asakita Ward to the north. The ridge approaching the summit hosts Matsukasa-yama Kannon-ji temple, while the Hattajō lookout on the northwest face commands views of the Ōta. Three short trailheads—Takimi-guchi, Hesaka Junior High School, and Dōkyō-jizō—provide easy access, and the Chūgoku Nature Trail crosses the Gama-ga-tōge pass east of the summit, enabling a traverse via the Komokuchi Recreation Forest to Mount Futatsugajō. The peak is featured in the city's "Hiroshima City Mountains to Walk" guide.
