Mount Kanōzan (379 m) in Kimitsu, Chiba Prefecture, is the second-highest mountain in the prefecture. Made up of three peaks—Shiratori, Kumano, and Kasuga—it is one of the Bōsō region's best-known sightseeing mountains, home to the ancient Jinya-ji temple (traditionally said to have been founded by Prince Shōtoku), the "Kujūkudani" valleys renowned for their seas of cloud, and Mother Farm. It is included in many lists, among them the 100 Famous Mountains of the Kantō Region and Japan's 100 Spiritual Mountains.
