Mount Gozaisho

Mount Gozaisho, also called Gozaisho-yama, is a 1,212 m mountain on the border of Komono in Mie and Higashiōmi in Shiga, within Suzuka Quasi-National Park, and is studded with large granite boulders and rock formations. Trails include the Naka, Ura and Omote routes, and a ropeway opened in 1959 runs year-round from Yunoyama Onsen to near the summit. The summit area has a ski resort; the mountain is known for akayashio azaleas in spring and autumn colours, and Lake Biwa can be seen from the Bōkodai viewpoint.
