Gozaisho Ski Resort trail map

Gozaisho Ski Resort, near the summit of Mt. Gozaisho in the Suzuka range, is the only ski area in Mie Prefecture and can be reached only by the Gozaisho Ropeway. Snowmaking backs up the natural snow on a gentle beginner slope and a short, steep advanced slope, alongside two sledding slopes and a snowshoe trail through the summit park. It is small, but clear winter days bring wide views from the top, and families come for the sledding and snow play. Snowboarding is not allowed. The gateway is Yunoyama Onsen, about ten minutes from the Komono IC and roughly an hour's drive from Nagoya.

Getting to Gozaisho Ski Resort and parking

Car: Shin-Meishin Expressway, Komono IC (新名神高速道路菰野IC), 10 min
Parking: Ropeway parking (flat daily rate): standard cars 1,000 yen, large vehicles (microbuses etc.) 2,000 yen

Train

Yunoyama-Onsen Station Kintetsu Yunoyama Line → Mie Kotsu bus to Yunoyama Onsen/Gozaisho Ropeway, about 7 min (adults 230 yen), then the Gozaisho Ropeway up to the summit park

Bus

Meitetsu Bus Center → Yunoyama Onsen/Gozaisho Ropeway Mie Kotsu (highway bus) · About 1 h 10 min – 1 h 25 min · 1 service on weekdays, 2 on weekends and holidays. 1,800 yen one way. Meitetsu Bus Center 3F, stop 2 → Gozaisho Ropeway up to the summit park (ski area)
