Sanpuku-toge Hut
三伏峠小屋
2,586 m · Ōshika-mura, Nagano · 0.4 km from the summit of Mount Sanpuku
Mountain hut at 2,580m just below Sanpukutoge, said to be the highest pass in Japan. It belongs to Kashio in Oshika Village, Nagano, and serves walkers heading from the Torikura route to Shiomidake or across to Ogouchidake. Climbing buses run to the Torikura trailhead above the Koshiji gate from mid-July to late August. Along with two-meal stays and room-only stays with bedding, there are private rooms for two and for three or more, and the kitchen is run by a former professional cook. Guest toilets are flush, and there is a cooking area and Wi-Fi over Starlink. The broad tent site right in front of the hut is close to the toilets, and the night sky above it is thick with stars. The hut is not opened after September, and the summer water point is removed around the third week of September.
