Lodge with its own hot spring at 2,370m on Murodo-daira, Tateyama. It is about 30 minutes' walk each way from the Murodo terminal on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route — an hour there and back — and looks down on the Jigokudani valley. The draw is the large bath fed by the Raicho hot spring. Accommodation comes in two forms: private Japanese-style rooms and bunk-style shared rooms. Private rooms have underfloor heating and power sockets; in the shared rooms each bed has a light, a socket and a curtain. Rooms have no bath, washbasin or toilet: washrooms and toilets are on every floor, and bathing is in the hot-spring bath. Inside there is a tea room (11:00-19:00), a shop (06:30-20:00), a lounge guests may use around the clock, and a self-service drinks stand at the entrance; drinking water and hot water are free 24 hours and all water in the building is potable. The season runs from 15 April to 24 November.
