Building at about 2,310m beside the Osawa collapse, at the western end of the Ochudo trail that circles the flanks of Mt. Fuji, in Kitayama, Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The Osawa collapse is a vast erosion scar on Fuji's western slope, running 2.1km from just below the summit down to around 2,200m, up to 500m wide and 150m deep, with a collapsed volume of some 75 million cubic metres — among the largest in Japan — and the MLIT Fuji Sabo Office reports that roughly 150,000 cubic metres of debris still washes out of it each year. The section of the Ochudo managed by Yamanashi Prefecture, from the Fuji Subaru Line fifth-station rotary to Okuniwa at the fourth station, opens each spring, but travel from Oniwa toward the Osawa collapse is prohibited all year. The prefecture warns that beyond that section the route is not maintained for general visitors and is dangerous, and asks people not to enter it casually. No official source could be found describing this building's manager or conditions of use.
