胸突山荘

3,550 m · Shizuoka · 0.3 km from the summit of Mishimadake

Staffed mountain hut at about 3,590m at the 9.5th station of Mount Fuji's Fujinomiya Route in Shizuoka Prefecture. It is roughly four and a half to six hours on foot from the fifth station, about 40 minutes below the Sengen Taisha Okumiya shrine at the summit and about 60 minutes from Kengamine, making it a high overnight base immediately below the top. Views extend toward Hakone, the Izu Peninsula, Enoshima and the Boso Peninsula, with seas of cloud, the shadow of Fuji, stars and sunrise visible in suitable weather. Standard sleeping space is mixed-gender but divided by curtains for each party.
