Mannenyuki Sanso
万年雪山荘
3,410 m · Shizuoka · 0.6 km from the summit of Mishimadake
Staffed mountain hut at the ninth station of Mount Fuji's Fujinomiya Route in Shizuoka Prefecture, officially described at about 3,460m. It is roughly four to five hours on foot from the Fujinomiya fifth station and about one hour below the summit, making it a convenient overnight base for sunrise either at the top or from the hut. The hut faces the Izu Peninsula and Suruga Bay; its name comes from the perennial snowfield behind it, whose meltwater is used for cooking. Its walk-in dining room opens from 02:00 and can be entered without removing hiking boots.
