笹ヶ峰ロッジ

1,300 m · Myōkō, Niigata · 1.4 km from the summit of Sasagamine

Located on the Sasagamine plateau in Suginosawa, Myoko, Niigata, at about 1,300m. Sasagamine is a basin-like plateau southwest of Myokosan, ringed by 2,000m-class peaks including Hiuchiyama, Yakeyama and Kurohimeyama, and is said to be unusually sunny and to escape the rainy season. It forms the core of Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park and holds the Myoko Sanroku prefectural forest with its Norway spruce plantation, the Sasagamine pasture and the Sasagamine dam. The Sasagamine trailhead for Hiuchiyama and Myokosan with its free car park and the Sasagamine campsite run by Kyukamura Myoko are close by. The access road is usable from the thaw in May until the snows return in November.
