This return hike climbs Mount Tsurumi on the Ikkitozando trail from the Mitake Gongen Shrine trailhead, passing the middle shrine of Hinokage–Hime Shrine. Above the forest, the summit area opens to views across Beppu Bay and toward Mount Yufu and the Kuju Mountains.
