This loop climbs from Suzuran Pass via Koutokudaira to Mount Tateshina, then descends through Tateshinasancho Hutte and Tateshina-sanso to Ryugen Bridge. It passes bamboo grassland and conifer forest before reaching a broad rocky summit with views of the Yatsugatake range and the Southern Alps.
