This station-to-station traverse climbs from Higashi-Agano Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line to the 445 m Tenkakusan, then follows the ridge over Agano-no-kashira to Otakayama, at 493 m the high point of the eastern Hanno Alps, before descending by Maesaka to Agano Station. The forested ridge is low but full of steep ups and downs, and the descent passes the Agano spring.
