Kunimidake Ski Area Closed
Official name 国見岳スキー場
Gifu
Closed in 2020
Kunimidake Ski Area lay in the hills east of Mount Kunimi (1,216 m), on the Shiga border at Kasuga-Mitsuka in Ibigawa, Gifu. It had four slopes: Kamoshika for advanced skiers, Torasu and Utopia for intermediates, and a central beginner slope. About an hour by car from Sekigahara or Ogaki IC, it was one of the few ski areas in western Gifu. Poor snow led the operator to stop after the 2019 season, and it has not opened since 2020. The buildings and lifts were never removed, and in 2026 local news reported that lift cables and other metal had been stolen from the site.
