Open 1999–2012
Across Shigenobu was an indoor ski slope in Toon, Ehime, and when it opened in November 1999 it was the only one in western Japan. Run by Kuma Sogo Kaihatsu, the operator of Kuma Ski Land, it offered a snow slope, a halfpipe, a restaurant and a shop, giving Shikoku riders somewhere to train all year; Vancouver Olympic halfpipe rider Ryo Aono grew up riding there. Visitor numbers fell and it closed on 31 January 2012, despite a petition with more than 50,000 signatures. A factory was built on the site in 2017.
