Mt. Warabi

Warabi-yama is a 1,044 m peak in the Naguri area of Hannō City, Saitama Prefecture, on the northern edge of the Okumusashi range and facing Mt. Bōnoore across the Arima River. A marked viewpoint at 1,033 m just below the high point looks out across the Okumusashi summits; in spring the ridge is lit by akayashio, shiroyashio and dōdan azaleas and in autumn by vivid colour. The classic 9.1 km route starts at Nagō bus stop and runs through Warabiiri, over Ōyoke-no-Kashira and the Konpira-Shrine ruin down to Sawarabi-no-yu hot spring. The mountain appears in the Kantō 100, the 'Mountains of Saitama' prefectural climbing guide, the 'Mountains of Japan 1000' and several Tokyo-area selections.
