Mt. Momokura (1,003 m) rises in Ōtsuki, Yamanashi, just north of the Chūō Main Line; its name ("Hundred-Storehouse Mountain," sometimes written 桃倉) comes from the many peach trees once planted on its slopes. Listed as Peak No. 7 of Ōtsuki's "Twelve Splendid Fuji Views," it is—together with neighbouring Mt. Ōgi—one of the most popular peaks of that set. The summit looks straight out at Mt. Fuji rising behind Mt. Shakushi, with the Southern Alps and Fuji Five Lakes visible on clear days. The standard route climbs from JR Saruhashi Station via the water-purification works, and the traverse with Mt. Ōgi is a classic outing. The peak is counted among the 100 Famous Mountains of Yamanashi.
