Mt. Maekurohōshi

Mt. Maekurohōshi (1,943 m) rises in Kawanehon Town in Haibara District, Shizuoka Prefecture, in the Sumata-gawa basin of the upper Ōigawa, and is the highest of the three "Sumatakyō Three Mountains" — paired with Asahi-dake and Sawaguchi-dake. It is included in the Shizuoka 100 and Quiet Mountains lists. The standard climb from Sumatakyō Hot Spring takes about eight hours one way and is rated for experienced hikers, with summit ridge views of the southern Southern Alps.
