Mt. Hō (518 m) is the highest summit of the Kasugayama range east of central Nara City. It rises within the Kasugayama Primeval Forest — a sacred grove protected by Kasuga Shrine since antiquity, designated a Special Natural Monument and inscribed on the UNESCO "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara" World Heritage list. The summit is reached from the Kasuga Okuyama Driveway near the Hoyama checkpoint via the Kasugayama Stone-Buddha Cave.
