Takaoka, Toyama · Elevation 274 m
Mt. Futagamisan is a 274 m peak straddling Takaoka City and Himi City in Toyama Prefecture, within Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park. Long revered as a sacred mountain, it inspired numerous Manyoshu poems by Otomo no Yakamochi, who served as governor of Etchu Province. The roughly 8 km "Futagamiyama Manyo Line" scenic drive winds across the ridge with sweeping views from the Tateyama Range to the Noto Peninsula, passing the Bell of Peace, the Moriyama Castle ruins, and the Manyo Botanical Garden. The peak appears in the Toyama Hundred Mountains, Hokuriku Hundred Mountains, the 50 Famous Mountains Beyond the Hyakumeizan, and the Japan 1003 Mountain Elevations lists.
