藤原岳
Higashiōmi-shi, Shiga / Inabe, Mie · Elevation 1,145 m
Fujiwaradake is a 1,144 m peak on the boundary between Inabe City in Mie Prefecture and Higashiōmi City in Shiga Prefecture, one of the principal summits of the northern Suzuka Mountains. Its limestone-karst summit plateau, dotted with dolines, has earned it the nicknames "Mountain of Limestone" and "Mountain of Fossils." From early spring it hosts vivid alpine flora — most famously fukujusō (Amur adonis) — and is one of the Hundred Famous Flower Mountains of Japan. The mountain lies within Suzuka Quasi-National Park and is also counted among the Japanese 300 Famous Mountains and the Suzuka Seven Mountains. Its highest point is known as Tenbōkyū (展望丘).
