Mount Takanosu is a 922-meter peak in central Hiroshima Prefecture, straddling the border of Higashi-Hiroshima and Akitakata cities and the highest summit within Higashi-Hiroshima. Its eastern slope holds a stand of natural beech forest protected by the Forestry Agency as one of the southernmost beech groves in the prefecture, while the summit affords views of the Seto Inland Sea and the Geihoku mountains. The peak appears on regional lists such as the Chūgoku Hyakumeizan and Hiroshima Hyakuzan.
