Mount Kokūzō (about 666 m), known locally as Iwamuro-yama, stands on the boundary between the former Shiwa and Happonmatsu towns in Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. A great rock outcrop just below the summit — Miharashi-Ōiwa — opens onto sweeping views of the Saijō Basin, and the third-class triangulation point at the top is named 'Iwamuro'. Namitaki-ji Pond lies at its foot, and the mountain is celebrated in the school song of Kawakami Elementary School; it is listed in the Hiroshima 100 and Hiroshima Prefecture 100.
