Mount Sugari

須刈岳

Mount Sugari is a 438 m hill in Uenojiri, Nishi-Aizu Town, Yama District, Fukushima Prefecture, standing along National Route 49 near the Niigata Prefecture border. It has been venerated as a rain-prayer mountain since the early modern period, and its mountain-opening ceremony is held in late April each year. Views from the summit reach the Agano River, the Uenojiri Power Station and the snowclad Iide Range, and the peak is included in the Utsukushima 100 Mountains and Aizu 100 Mountains lists.
