Mount Oike

Mount Oike is a 1,905.6 m peak in Iida City (formerly Kamimura), Nagano Prefecture, on a southern outlier of the Akaishi Mountains (Southern Japan Alps). On its south-east flank lies the Oikeyama Crater—the only meteorite-impact crater recognised in Japan, roughly 900 m in diameter and described in a 2010 paper in Meteoritics & Planetary Science. A walking path crosses the surviving crater wall to an observation deck, and there is an exhibit at the Shirabiso Highland visitor area. The peak lies within the transition area of the South Alps UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and is included in lists such as the Shinshu Furusato 120 Mountains.
