Mount Kinryu

A 502-meter peak on the southern ridge of the Sefuri Mountains, just north of central Saga City. Just below the summit stands the upper shrine of Kinryu Shrine, dedicated to Ukemochi-no-kami, Mizuhanome-no-mikoto and the legendary Chinese alchemist Jofuku—said to have sought the elixir of immortality on these slopes—making the mountain a long-revered sacred site. Kinryu Park, run by the City of Saga at the southern foot, spreads across more than 25 hectares and includes the Jofuku Choju Memorial Hall, a medicinal plant garden, and roughly 7.3 kilometers of nature walking paths. The peak is included in the Saga Prefecture Mountain Guide (Bunken Tozan Guide).
