Mount Hatake

Mount Hatake is a 205-metre peak straddling the Kikoba district of Hayama Town in Miura District and Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, the eastern end-point of the Miura Alps. The medieval warrior Hatakeyama Shigetada is said to have encamped here before attacking Kinugasa Castle, and the summit was later fortified as an anti-aircraft battery defending Yokosuka Naval Port. It is reached by the direct trailhead near Fudō-bashi on Kanagawa Prefectural Route 27 or as part of the Miura Alps traverse from the Hayama side.
