Mount Gakumeki

Mount Gakumeki is a 1,036.8-metre peak straddling Soeda Town in Tagawa District, Fukuoka, and Hita City, Ōita Prefecture, rising southwest of Hikosan within the Yaba-Hita-Hikosan Quasi-National Park. The summit with a third-class triangulation point at 1,036.8 metres is paired with a slightly higher 1,040-metre point known as Gakumeki-dake to the northwest, both part of the Hikosan range with its long Shugendō tradition.
