Kannonyama is a 523-metre mountain in the eastern Rokko range in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture. Jurin-ji, a Koyasan Shingon temple at its foot, publishes the hiking routes itself: its Panorama Course climbs Kannon-dani from the temple to the summit in about 30 minutes, and the temple calls the view down from the top superb. The route continues to Gorogoro-dake, and another branch passes Asahi Falls on the way to Okuike in Ashiya. Signposting is incomplete, so care is needed at junctions; the temple recommends the cherry blossom of April, the wild azaleas of May and the autumn colours.
